Organic Anarchy - Modri + Sivi Pinot - 2019
Because Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio are genetic mutations of the same grape line, co-fermenting them creates an extraordinary bridge between skin-contact amber white and delicate mountain red. At 12% ABV, the 2019 vintage balances supple body with electric alpine tension.
The Visual: A stunning, luminescent coppery-garnet with glowing coral-amber highlights. Unfined and unfiltered, holding a natural, vibrant cloudiness.
The Nose: A fascinating crossover spectrum. Sour red cherries, wild cranberries, and crushed raspberries blend seamlessly with dried orange rind, rosehip tea, blood orange zest, wet pine bark, and a savory whiff of dried oregano.
The Palate: Textural alchemy. The red skins of Pinot Noir lend a subtle, fine-grained structure, while the pink skins of Pinot Grigio add a chewy, phenolic grip and broad mid-palate weight. Flavors of salt-baked red plums, tart pomegranate, and mountain herbs surge forward, buoyed by a crisp, saline acid drive that leaves the palate clean and tingling.
This bottling is a masterclass in harmony. By blending a light red grape with a skin-macerated pink grape, Aci captures the aromatic perfume of a light red alongside the savory, tannic intrigue of an amber wine. The 2019 Modri + Sivi Pinot is pure, energetic glou-glou elevated to a meditative level rare, wild, and intensely alive.
Best enjoyed: Slightly chilled (11–13°C / 52–55°F). Excellent on its own or paired with savory charcuterie, wild mushrooms, or roasted root vegetables.
