Organic Anarchy - Iz Rdecih In Belih Sort - 2020

High on the windswept slopes of Ritoznoj, Aci Urbajs works in radical communion with nature. Guided strictly by lunar rhythms and cosmic energy, his Organic Anarchy domaine represents raw winemaking at its most untamed. No chemicals, no commercial yeasts, no filtration, and strictly zero added sulfur. With Iz Rdečih in Belih Sort (literally: "From Red and White Varieties"), Aci revives the ancient tradition of field-blend co-fermentation, blurring the lines between red, white, and skin-contact wine.

Sitting at a featherweight 11% ABV, this is Aci’s answer to the classic Schiller or dark rosé/light red style, where red and white grapes are harvested together and macerated on their skins in a single vessel. The white grapes inject electric mountain acidity and aromatic lift, while the red skins bring a translucent ruby tint, crunchy fruit, and a subtle tannic snap.

The Visual: A glowing, hazy reddish-amber sunset hue—somewhere between a deep dark rosé, an orange wine, and a translucent light red. Unfiltered and alive with cloudiness.

The Nose: Lifted, kinetic, and wildly aromatic. Juicy wild strawberries, sour cherries, and pomegranate clash happily with orange peel, crushed cranberries, pink peppercorns, damp forest moss, and a rustic dash of alpine herbs.

The Palate: Pure liquid energy. High-toned and mouth-puckeringly juicy, the 11% frame gives it hyper-drinkability ("glou-glou" spirit) without losing raw complexity. Fine, crunchy skin tannins meet an electric wave of red-currant acidity and crushed-stone minerality, finishing bone-dry and endlessly refreshing.

This wine completely breaks the mold. Instead of separating his vineyard into neat varietal releases, Aci embraces the holistic energy of his whole plot red and white alike. The 2020 bottling is a masterclass in low-alcohol drinkability, offering a playful, vibrating, multi-dimensional profile that proves wine doesn't need high extraction or alcohol to deliver serious soul.

Best enjoyed: Slightly chilled (around 10–12°C / 50–54°F). It’s an insanely versatile bottle that pairs effortless joy with uncompromising zero-sulfur winemaking.
