Organic Anarchy - Iz Sort Chardonnay, Kerner, Rizling 2009

The 2009 assemblage brings three distinct grapes into harmony: Chardonnay provides a broad, silky, weight-bearing foundation; Kerner adds an aromatic, herbal, and spicy flare; and Renski Rizling drops an essential anchor of high-altitude tension and electric acidity. At a moderate 12.5% ABV, it delivers massive sensory depth without any heavy alcoholic weight.

The Visual: A glowing, molten-amber gold with burnished orange glints. Unfined and unfiltered, holding the fine, living cloudiness of a true ancient brew.

The Nose: Highly aromatic, esoteric, and evocative. Opens with bruised quince, candied lemon peel, and dried stone fruit, unspooling into notes of wet slate, wild mountain thyme, petrol, dried saffron, and a hint of aged honeyed wax.

The Palate: Textural poetry. Silky yet taut, the maceration bestows a velvety, delicate tannic weave. The mid-palate bursts with dried apricots, savory umami, and salt-cured citrus, before Riesling’s indestructible acid backbone takes over, driving a long, saline, dry finish that practically vibrates on the tongue.

Aci’s 2009 blend shows the magic of patience. Time has melted these three contrasting grapes into a unified, meditative masterpiece where fruit, skin-tannins, and minerality are completely fused. It’s an authentic, raw, and deeply energetic expression of a legendary vintage in Štajerska—uncompromising, alive, and profoundly soulful.

Best enjoyed: Cellar temperature (around 12–14°C / 54–57°F). Decant 30 minutes prior to let 15+ years of natural reduction dissipate, and watch it evolve across hours in the glass.
