OSLAVJE 2009

The 2009 growing season in Collio was warm and dry, producing high sugar ripeness and rich phenolic development in the grape skins. The lush texture of Chardonnay combined with the lifted, exotic aromatics of late-harvested Sauvignon Blanc results in an amber wine of immense scale and poise.

The Visual: A glowing, molten-copper amber with fiery orange and tawny highlights. Unfined, unfiltered, and deeply textured in the glass.

The Nose: Highly aromatic and opulent. Dried papaya, bitter marmalade, and candied lemon peel give way to high notes of crushed sage, beeswax, toasted almonds, dried chamomile, and a subtle flick of resinous pine.

The Palate: Broad-shouldered, warm, and deeply structured. The extended skin contact delivers fine, tea-like tannins that frame a rich core of dried apricot, salt-cured citrus, and savory umami. Despite the generous 2009 warmth, a firm streak of saline minerality and energetic acidity keeps the finish long, dry, and surprisingly fresh.

The 2009 Oslavje captures Radikon at its most rich and aromatic. It sits as a bridge between the vibrant, youthful fruit of its early years and the complex, savory tertiary notes of a fully mature natural wine. For collectors of skin-contact whites, this bottling stands alongside the world's great orange wines—unapologetic, immortal, and soul-stirringly authentic.

Best enjoyed: Cellar temperature (14–16°C / 57–60°F). Avoid chilling too cold. Give it 20–30 minutes to open in a wide glass and let its deep aromatic layers unspool.
