SANCERRE LES QUARTERONS 2014
Les Quarterons is the younger and fresher of Sebastien's Sauvignons, but no less deeply enthralling and beautifully complex, a true gem of a natural wine brimming with depth and personality. It’s 100% Sauvignon from the heart of Loire’s Sancerre, born of biodynamically farmed grapes on vines of 50 years of age on average. The only one of his wines di lui that sees only steel and usually no surmaturation of the grapes, it ferments spontaneously with no skin contact then sees 2 years of elevage on the fine lees in steel. No fining or filtration of course, as well as only minimal quantities of SO2. Herbal symphonies, mandarin skin, lemongrass essence and white plums with elderflower honey.
