TIN SANGIOVESE
Silvio’s Tin Sangiovese, the word meaning “clay” in Arabic, comes from biodynamically farmed vines in Chianti, the oldest of the estate, on clay-limestone soils. The grapes are picked at full maturity and fermented wildly on the skins for 6 months in large 240l clay amphoras, before undergoing an even longer elevage. As he loves to say, wine is the living result of a “natural transformation” and this natural red is a miracle of depth, harmony and transcendent beauty: dried hyacinth, fresh black plums, Northern musks and cassis.
