INDIGENO ROSATO 2018
What would be traditionally called “Cerasuolo” in Abruzzo if it chose to conform to the often depressing conventional denomination, this wildly exuberant and crazily juicy rosè from Indigeno comes from 100% Montepulciano, the region’s most traditional red variety. It ferments wildly in open fiberglass tanks and sees 1 night of skin contact before being pressed and aging for 1 more year. An otherworldly feat of a wine, where the extremely low alcohol and killer drinkability happily coexist, and mutually enhance, with a great depth of flavor. Fresh gooseberries, cloves, and forest floor with spiced red currants and Indian spices. No added SO2 to be found of course!
