LE RONDINI
Podere Erica’s Le Rondini (meaning “swallows” in Italian) wonderfully ethereal yet assertively focused orange wine is a blend of mostly Trebbiano, imbuing it with subtle structure and acidity, with a touch of Malvasia and Moscato, gifting it with kaleidoscopically floral aromatics. It ferments wildly in clay amphoras with extended skin contact, then ages in glass demijohns before being bottled without fining or filtration and only a minimum of added SO2. Like its namesake it’s a staggeringly dynamic and infinitely entrancing: rosemary-infused marzipan, burnt clementine peel, jasmine compote and sweet bergamot.
