KA NO DDU NAU 2016

While the name might bring to mind some long-forgotten incantation it actually means “don’t worry, I won’t say anything” in Sardinian dialect from Gianfranco’s hometown of Nurri. This refers to the fact that, since this wine, being natural and untouched by chemicals or oenological trickery, cannot be admitted in the Cannonau denomination, it cannot have the variety named on the label. This is a veritable powerhouse of a wine made from a selection of Cannonau from vines of over 70 years of age. It paints an unforgettable tapestry of warm and mineral tones, rich in earth and fruit: myrtle berries with black preserved plums, wild fennel, autumn leaves and crushed violets.
