Pettirosso means “robin” in Italian, as it is beautifully evidenced by the label, and it’s the Padovani sisters’ fragrant, fresh and joyful daily natural wine, proving that a vigneron with a true vision can craft masterworks even from simplicity. A sincere and unadulterated expression of the Montalcino terroir, it’s mostly Sangiovese with a hint of Colorino from grapes at the feet of Monte Amiata farmed biodynamically. It ferments with its native yeasts in steel and ages there a few months before being bottled with no fining or filtration. A bright ruby in the glass, it brims with electrifying notes of crunchy red currants, Thai basil, juniper and pomegranate.
