Le Fole, and in an incredibly rare and majestic vintage here, is one of the most radical, deeply territorial and just plain majestic interpretations of the Aglianico grape, by some called the Barolo of the South. We are however here lightyears away from any critically acclaimed but empty and soulless brand here, this is a wine of heartfelt passion and unparalleled elegance. Aglianico from a single cru of over 75 years of age, the grapes ferment with native yeasts and macerate with the skins for 40 days, then see an elevage of 6 months in old oak and 6 more in steel. Impulsive and unstoppable character and passion, yet superior poise and balanced elegance: dark roots and wild mulberries, chutney of black currants, Szechuan peppercorn and black Assam tea.
