CORTEMURAS 2016
Cortemuras is a mind-bendingly beautiful and complex beast of a natural wine from legendary and reclusive master Gianfranco Manca. The name is derived from the single vineyard from which the wine originates, a dynamic and profound blend of Sardinian ancient autochthonous grapes Cannonau, Bovale, Carignan and the rare and almost extinct Tintillu. These are old vines of over 60 years of age which have always seen only rigorous natural farming, the grapes are wildly fermented and the wine sees no additions, fining, filtration or added SO2 before bottling. Dried black cherries with rum-soaked dates, fresh forest strawberries, tarragon and incense.
