PACHNA ROSSO 2011
Pachna can be said to be a natural wine which is more than unique and the supreme expression of Pacina’s Sangiovese. It combines a number of exceptionalities, as it comes from a single Sangiovese row, of course farmed organically, of an old vineyard splendidly facing the warm mid-day sun. Harvested late so as to have a more intense concentration, the grapes ferment spontaneously in cement with a skin contact of 8 weeks, then see no less than 36 months of elevage in large wood. Delightfully powerful but sublimely elegant, it sings of the beauty of its terroir with lightly grilled red plums, dried hibiscus petals with cloves and cinnamon, officinal herbs and appleberries.
