TENTADOS ANFORA 2016
One of Ismael’s most stunning and richly complex orange wines, this is 100% Verdejo from venerably old vines in Nieva at over 900m of altitude, all organically farmed. It begins by cold-soaking with the skins in whole bunches in underground amphorae, then starts to naturally ferment with carbonic maceration and continues its skin contact for about 6 months, after which 50% of the mass is pressed. It sees an elevage of a further 11-12 months. Of course it sees no degrading fining, filtration or added SO2. Bright and spectacular with chargrilled pineapple, Demerara rum, turmeric and pink grapefruit rind.
