La Tournelle - Les Corvees sous Couron - 2015

LES CORVEES SOUS CURON 

This majestic, finely chiseled and unendingly and deliciously dynamic natural Jura white wine is one of the most precious cuvees from La Tournelle. It’s 100% Chardonnay, organically grown on gravel-limestone soils, as opposed to the marlstone ones found in other cuvees, and gains its name from the eponymous parcel. It ferments wildly after being direct-pressed in steel and continues to do so in old large barrels, after which the wine sees no less than 2 years of elevage on the fine lees before bottling with no added SO2 according to Maria Thun’s biodynamic calendar. Brightly mineral and elegantly opulent, it marries power and a rare ethereal quality: elderflower, lemongrass and guava compote with cedar citrus juice, green peppercorn and cashew butter with saffron and honey.
