RISERVA AGUNG NERELLO MASCALESE 2014
The mountain marries the island and the ocean with this wine, as Nerello Mascalese is famed for its high altitude Etna wines and is here found in venerable vineyards in the island of Pantelleria, volcanic as well but deep within the bosom of the sea. Super-natural agriculture and cellar work, with 7 months of fermentation and skin contact in Amphora, no fining, filtration or added SO2. Otherworldly, etheric and inebriating, it swirls within the mind’s eye with white mulberry, nasturtium, black pepper and pomegranate.
