Charismatic Sicilian natural wine maverick Aldo Viola’s farm is located near Western Sicily’s Alcamo, where, with no use of chemicals and only beyond natural methods, he lovingly tends to around 6 hectares of traditional local varieties such as Catarratto, Grillo, Nerello Mascalese, Perricone and Grecanico.

Soils are mostly limestone and clay-based with some marls, and the vineyards enjoy a day-night temperature differential which infuses the grapes with added depth and aromas.

Coming from a family involved for generations in viticulture and despite the “gentle savage” image, Aldo has a strong technical oenological background, since he believes that the art of low intervention winemaking requires the strongest possible knowledge base.

All of his wines are blessed with the strength infused by long maceration and the purity of no added SO2, they are wines of unmistakable character and untamable energy.
