VINO DEL POGGIO BIANCO 2017

This stunning and deeply territorial natural orange wine is born out of 45 years old vines of the typical aromatic Piacenza hill variety Malvasia di Candia. The carefully selected grapes ferment spontaneously with their native yeasts and see a skin contact of 6 months in steel, the wine then ages 6 more months before being bottled with no added SO2. Just like Friuli’s Ribolla Malvasia di Candia is a grape whose real sould cannot be unlocked without maceration on the skin, and this shines through in this a wine that is as magmatically rustic as it is erudite and complex: lemon blossom-scented marzipan with grilled tangerine peel, gingerbread and smoked tobacco; mustard of tamarind, peaches and nutmeg with dried pandan leaf and grilled persimmon.
