This Pinot Noir powerhouse from Bourgogne’s natural wine genius Sylvain Pataille is a monument to the miracles that can take place when terroir, grape and the vigneron’s art and vision magically intersect. It’s 100% Pinot Noir from old vines in Marsannay, tended to with wholly natural methods on clay-limestone soils, which sees wild fermentation, 2 years of aging in barriques and finally the bottle with no humiliation such as fining or filtration. Juicily electric yet spontaneous, the flesh is opulent yet sharp, with whispered tannins and plenty of sapidity.
