Jerome Jouret’s 12 hectares organic Domaine is found in the Rhone’s Southern Ardeche, more precisely in the pristine Vallee d’Ibie. These steep and rocky slopes surrounded by untouched woods see ancient vines that have never seen any pesticides or chemical fertilisers. The high elevation and cool climate make for an environment in which the grapes can spend longer time on the vine and therefore concentrate even more aromas and character absorbed from their terroir. Jerome lovingly tends to varieties such as Carignan, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Grenache for reds and Viognier, Ugni Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc for whites. All wines are of course spontaneously fermented, not fined or filtered and see no hint of added SO2. These are wines of place, spirit, expression and terroir.
