ENNIO ROMANO CECARO and MENA IANNELLA

CANLIBERO

Canlibero, located in the Sannio Beneventano area of Campania, was born out of an astral and somewhat devilish alignment of events, when the couple Ennio and Mena, both coming from grape-growing families and both natural wine lovers, decide to see what happens when they stop selling the grapes to the local cooperative and make their own wine. The results are free-spirited, untamable and just downright amazingly vibrant and delicious wines. They believe that wine must be a nourishment to the soul, as well as the senses and the body, and their wines are the embodiment of said belief. They work just over 2 hectares divided among small parcels, all biodynamically farmed and with cellar practices just as natural, with only wild fermentations and no humiliating filtrations, fining or oenological trickery. The varieties are the traditional ones, among which reign supreme Aglianico, Fiano and Falanghina, and the wines are feral and unstoppable beasts of pure beauty. All wines see no trace of added SO2.
