Iconic and revered natural wine figure and indomitable vigneron Alain Castex was for over 15 years the man behind legendary estate Le Casot De Mailloles, which he sold to Jordi Perez in 2013. He now retains a tiny but unbelievably precious and expressive 1,5 hectare of vineyards in Languedoc Roussillon’ Trouillas, with soils of sand, clay, granite and gravel. Here he farms according to the purest biodynamic ethos old vines of local varieties such as Grenache, Grenache Gris, Syrah and Mourvedre, Carignan and many other obscure and rare ones. His are wines of unique power, finesse and territorial purity and focus.
