SINE FELLE VECCHIE VIGNE 2016
Vecchie Vigne (meaning old vines) it’s a blend of biodynamically farmed Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Malvasia nera, from extremely old vines. The three vines are harvested and vinified all together at the same time. A pre-fermentation maceration is carried out for 48 hours, then punching down and pumping over every 6 hours for about 20 days until the fermentation is finished, then maceration for a few days and finally "batonnage sur lies" for 6 months. Aged in barriques and in French oak barrels for a period of time between 1 to 3 years. Hints of blackberry and cherry accompanied by flavors of black pepper and mushrooms. Round and smooth, soft and pleasant tannins.
