This is a crazily rich and vibrant as well as incredibly delicious natural wine from bad boy Anthony Tortul. It’s a red field blend sourced from biodynamic and organic parcels, some of which quite old, of a dizzying array of grapes. It’s made up of 70% Aramon, an ancient and rare Languedoc-Roussillon variety, with the remaining being Cinsault, Noir de la Calmette, Terrier, Alicante, Malbec and Muscat. Of course it sees only wild fermentation and no intrusive and demeaning fining, filtration or added SO2. It packs a memorable punch and astonishes with its yummy dynamism: crunchy lingonberries with liquorice and tamarind, wild tarragon with rye bread and cooked apples.
